Quiet sensitive soul seeks love and a comfy sofa
Geordie Thomas is a sweet natured 5 year old greyhound boy who is a retired racer. When he left the racing kennels his confidence was pretty low; he wasn’t used to being in a home environment or going on walks in a busy city environment and he is still building his confidence with new situations. However, Geordie is keen to please and very willing to learn if you are willing to show him how.
Geordie’s owners made great progress in helping him adapt to a home environment but sadly they had to give him up due to other commitments. At present he is staying in a GAL foster home and has settled in well despite all the changes.
Geordie is a quiet boy with a sensitive nature and is not fazed by life in a busy household. He is housetrained and enjoys his food very much. He enjoys exploring the garden and is always keen to go out in the car. He loves going for walks and walks very well on his lead without pulling. He’s a bit confused when he sees small furry animals, especially small dogs while out on his walks and will lunge at them as he’s not sure what they are.
Due to his high prey drive Geordie would fit in best with someone who understands his breed’s traits and can continue to work on improving this aspect of his behaviour. He would not be suitable for a home with small dogs, cats or any other small furry animals. We haven’t been able to test him with small children and for this reason we’re not recommending him for a home with small children.
Geordie currently shares his foster home with a deerhound and a lurcher and gets on well with them so he could live with another larger breed dog once proper introductions have been made.
