We’re delighted that you want to volunteer with GAL! Before we get stuck in, please complete our volunteer form so we can find out a bit about you. Once you’re a member we’ll invite you to our volunteer channel (currently on Slack) and keep you updated on events and volunteering opportunities.

Not sure how much time you can commit? We have events and fundraisers throughout the year. We always need volunteers to help run our events, and we appreciate any time you can offer.

If you’re interested in volunteering on a regular basis head on over to our current vacancies (LINK), where we have a number of dedicated GAL positions where we’re looking for a regular commitment of anything from 1 - 8 hours a month, depending on the role.

Have you ever volunteered before?

We’d love to know if you have volunteered previously and what your experiences were.

Do you have any particular area of expertise or area you’d particularly like to volunteer for?

Our volunteers are a very versatile bunch, and we all tend to get stuck in when something needs done. However, we’d love to know if there’s a particular area of our operations you’d really love to bring to the table; for example events management, dog training and behavioural qualifications, etc.

Is there any particular role you’re particularly interested in?

Volunteering gives you the opportunity to gain new skills and experience, and we’re happy to encourage you to try something new with Team GAL. So if you’re currently working in a desk job, but really want to learn more about events organisation, we’ll be happy to pair you up with our experienced events volunteers. They’ll be able to show you the ropes and give you the opportunity to get involved with planning and running events.

3. Your Availability

Can you give us a rough idea of how much time you’ll be able to commit to GAL?

We have loads of opportunities available, an appreciate all the efforts our volunteers make. Even joining in our can collections once or twice a year, or coming along and helping out on a few walks a year will all help keep the machine moving.
